The Magazine is an independent newsroom of a dozen editors and correspondents across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. We publish a handful of stories each week — long enough to mean something, short enough to finish on a commute.
We believe a story is worth the weeks it takes to report it — and that readers deserve more than a headline and a hot take.
The Magazine was founded in 2014 by a small group of editors who'd grown tired of the volume game. We wanted to make fewer things, more carefully. A decade later, we're still small, still independent, and still printing stories that take time — from a six-month investigation into coastal erosion to a 9,000-word profile of a butter sculptor.
